Exhibition Content Developer and Interpretive Planner

The Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development (EJS Center) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 2018 to be a catalyst for political and social change across Africa by helping unleash its most abundant latent power —its women. The EJS Center aims to amplify the voices of women and girls in all spheres of life by increasing the representation of women in public service leadership roles in Africa. Through a unique blend of programming, advocacy, archival research, and museum exhibitions, the EJS Center seeks to become a premier institution dedicated to advancing and sustaining women’s political and social development on the continent.

Design plans for the EJS Presidential Center building, located in Monrovia, Liberia, are underway. Once construction is completed, the Presidential Center will serve as a destination for those seeking to learn about, engage with, and celebrate the history of women’s leadership on the African continent. The signature attraction and educational resource of the Presidential Center building will be a permanent exhibition focused on the life and legacy of Africa’s first democratically elected woman head of state and EJS Center Founder, former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

The EJS Center is seeking out interested firms that will provide direct oversight for the content development, interpretive planning, and media requirements for the design of its permanent exhibition. Under the direction of the COO and the Director of Library, Archives, Exhibits, and Administration, the Content Development/Interpretive Planning Team will collaborate with the exhibition architect in the design, development, and planning around the exhibition.
