The EJS Center is seeking International Trainers with expertise in gender sensitization training to deliver trainings in Kenya, Senegal, and Zambia. We are seeking one International Trainer for each workshop, with an extensive track record of delivering such training with measurable impact. The International Trainer can be based in any country around the world—including but not limited to African countries.
The International Trainers will collaborate with our Communications Consultant and In-Country Delivery Partners to design and deliver a training curriculum in these countries. The one-day long workshops will cover topics including identifying subconscious biases, understanding the impact of gender-biased coverage on electoral outcomes, strategies for ensuring balanced coverage, advocating for equity in the newsroom, and reporting sensitively on violence against women in politics (VAWP). The International Trainer will also contribute to media landscaping and analysis in each country, which will be used for a report.
Applicants are welcome to apply to deliver more than one training should they have the appropriate language skills and prior experience to do so.
Due to the risks posed by the on-going Covid-19 pandemic, it is foreseen that the trainings will operate with a hybrid model with the International Trainer delivering the program remotely with some participants attending virtually whilst others may attend in person, where safe to do so.
