The EJS Center is looking to partner with NGOs or academic institutions that can undertake the co-ordination and facilitation of a training program for journalists and producers. We are seeking three partners – based in Kenya, Senegal, and Zambia respectively. Each partner will have strong in-country media networks and have a clear track record of delivering similar training programs.
To deliver the training, the In-Country Delivery Partner will work alongside our Communications Consultant and an International Trainer who has an extensive track record of delivering such training with measurable impact.
The one-day long workshops will cover topics including identifying subconscious biases, understanding the impact of gender-biased coverage on electoral outcomes, strategies for ensuring balanced coverage, advocating for equity in the newsroom, and reporting sensitively on violence against women in politics (VAWP). In Kenya and Senegal, the project will include conducting media landscaping and analysis, and in Zambia it will include a full media monitoring report, tracking coverage of women public leaders over the upcoming elections.
This position has been filled for Zambia and Kenya. Full details can be found in the RFP document here for Senegal.
