EJS Center / Become a Web Developer Partner

One of the barriers to women’s advancement in public leadership is a lack of representation in leadership positions. In order to advocate for greater representation, it’s crucial to gain a better understanding of the current state of play.

The EJS Center is looking to create a publicly available data dashboard tool that will track women’s representation in senior government positions in Africa, beginning with a focus on West African countries. The data dashboard will enable the display of data in a user-friendly, easily digestible format.

We are seeking a website developer to design and build a user-friendly data dashboard tool that presents data collected by the Center on women’s representation in policymaking and governance in Africa.

The dashboard needs to clearly present insights from the data set and have the capability to visualize a country’s progress over time as the data bank is built up. In addition, it needs to have the functionality to compare between countries, showing continent-wide data, regional data, and country-specific breakdowns as selected by the user. The dashboards will start by showcasing data from West Africa and eventually contain data for the entire continent.

Furthermore, the tool should clearly show information on the sources and reliability of the data and have easy options to share the insights, visualizations, and data across different media channels, as well as the capability to download the data as an .xls or .csv file. In addition, key information should be available in English and French.

Examples of other data dashboards include:

The data for this tool will be collated by the EJS Center’s research team; a copy of the data entry form can be shared with developers once the intention to apply for the role has been raised.
