Molly Cashin has long experience as a writer, editor, policy analyst, administrator and development specialist for nonprofit organizations based in both the United States and Africa, including stints at the African Medical and Relief Foundation (Nairobi), the International Centre for Insect Physiology and Ecology (Nairobi), the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence (Washington, DC) and the University of Hartford. She is the author of Sustaining the League of Women Voters in America, an analysis of American civic engagement published by New Academia Press in 2011, and is a longstanding supporter of democratic engagement worldwide.

She holds two graduate degrees – a Masters in Public Administration (New York University) and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (Georgetown University) – as well as a Bachelors in political science and history from Connecticut College. She serves on the boards of the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Center, the League of Women Voters Education Fund, the Jesuit Refugee Service and the Georgetown University Lauinger Library.
